#30DaysOfFionn Event Calendar

Looking to get involved in one of our events? You can find details below of the events that Fionn’s friends and family have organised to raise funds to adapt his home – share the word, donate if you can… every little bit helps.

April

Sean’s Marathon

Fionn’s cousin, Sean, ran his first marathon for #30DaysofFionn. He raised over €6,300 from over 100 supporters – about €250 per mile. We couldn’t even run around the block. Couldn’t be prouder of you, Sean! Donate here (closes 10th May).

Andrew’s Mammoth Walk

It’s been hard for anyone of us to get out for a walk, but Andrew Harkness managed to walk all the way from Dublin to Edinburgh in April (all within his 5km of course). He averaged 24,500 steps a day so, as well as his Fitbit being very happy, Andrew managed to raise an incredible £8,250 for Fionn. You can still donate here at time of writing.

May

The Run for Fionn in Dundrum

A big group effort this one (and a tongue-twister). The ‘Run for Fionn in Dundrum’ was led by the brilliant Emma MacCaffery and Mairead Ewing, and lots of supporters got out on the road for a run across Dundrum. A whopping €11,000+ was raised by everyone on the day. Thank you!

John Murray’s Run from Malin Head to Mizen Head

Hands up who could run from Malin Head to Mizen Head? Well, ours are certainly down but our good friend, John Murray, has pledged to run (virtually) from Malin to Mizen Head this month to raise funds for Fionn. Now, hands up who wants to help John from the comfort of our couch? That’s more like it for us too. You can still donate here until July 1st

June

100 Days for #30DaysOfFionn

(From left to right) Peter, Stephen, Trish, Aled, Jen, Helen, Vera, Vanessa, Moi, Ellen, Marianne and crew.

A group of legends (seen above recently doing a triathlon) are taking on a range of personal challenges to raise money for Fionn. Launching on the 15th May 2021 with a cycle we will individually complete 3km a day for 100 days – options include 1 km run/walk, 1 km cycle, 1 km swim each day OR 3 km a day. They will each reach 300km over the 100 days and are planning to finish with a sprint triathlon. Unbelievable stuff.

Donate to this amazing group here.

Crazy Hair Day Time!

Leonie is putting on a MAD HAIR DAY at All Saint’s National school. We’re expecting see a Rachel from Friends, an 80’s Chandler from Friends, and… we’ve been watching too much Friends recently. Thanks Leonie, this one is going to be fun!

You can donate to Leonie and the kids efforts directly on our iDonate page.

September

Fionn Brogan Trust Golf Classic

We had an amazing turnout for the Golf Classic with nearly 40 teams travelling to Meath for the match. The amazing Killeen Castle was the host of the event, and over €40,000 was raised from the event.

Donate here (open until November 11th)

Coast to Coast Walk

Fionn’s uncle, Niall Brogan and his friends Eddie Snowdan and Diarmuid Dunne walked from Dublin Bay to Galway Bay in a single long weekend. That’s well over 200 km – fantastic stuff – and have raised over €13,000 so far. Time to rest the feet, lads!

Donate here (open until 30th September)

More events and supporters – Coming Soon!

BlackSheep Foods

A big thank you to BlackSheep Foods in Chapelozid who will be hosting events throughout the year to raise fund for Fionn, as well as providing their delicious catering for some of the exciting events we have for #30DaysofFionn.

The Sydney Beach Challenge

We’re intrigued about this one. What sort of challenges will Tadgh Purcell, John Whelan and their friends get up to on Sydney Beach? Watch this space to find out… (we reckon speedo’s may be involved).

F45 Blackrock

F45 Blackrock, the fitness trainers who bring you 45 minutes of circuit and hit style workouts geared towards everyday movement, will be organising an event in aid of Fionn. We’re not sure when (and what) it’ll be yet, but we can guess it’ll involve some sweat.

John and Jack – Gig for Fionn

John O’Farrell and Jack Hickey, shockingly rejected by the musical elite and now having to work normal jobs, will be dusting off their guitars and vocal chords for a gig in Dalkey once we can all get together (and over Zoom if not). We expect the call for encores to be long and loud.

The T-Shirt Company

A huge thank you to the T-Shirt Company, and Tommy McKeever in particular, for the donation of a big box of ’30 Days of Fionn’ t-shirts. If you want a t-shirt for your event, in any size, contact us and we’ll send them to you as soon as possible.

Rowing the Atlantic

Even we were like ‘are you sure?’ when we heard about this one. A good friend of the family, Kevin O’Farrell, will be rowing the Atlantic with a few friends early in 2022. Set to be at sea for weeks and weeks on end, this is an endurance (physical and mental) event that we could only dream of doing ourselves.

Want to organise your own event for Fionn?

We’ve also been overwhelmed by the amount of people who’ve wanted to do something to help raise funds for adapting Fionn’s home. There’s been many a simple offer of help that’s brought us some of the greatest joy in all of this. The offer matters as much to us as anything else. If you’d like to get involved and organise your own event, you can contact us [email protected] with your idea.
